Playa Quemada is a very small beach about
8km west of Puerto del Carmen. The village of Playa Quemada is probably about
the same as Puerto del Carmen was forty years ago. When you get to the village
and park your car, you need to walk a few hundred meters further west to get to
the beach. Interesting rock formations, and a beach that lies about 60 degrees
from horizontal due to prevailing winds blowing the sand up the side of the
cliffs! A great little restaurant on the beach to enjoy the sunset, tapas, and
a great bottle of red wine. What more could anyone want!
Go north from our apartment, over the roundabout at the circunvalacion, and up towards Macher. At the Macher roundabout, turn left, and head towards Playa Blanca. The next roundabout is the exit for Puerto Calero. Go straight through that one, and at the following roundabout, turn left and go down a long winding road that will take you right into the town of Playa Quemada. |
