Playa Grande (big beach) is on the Avenida, and runs east for about two kilometres from the Fariones hotel in Puerto del Carmen.  It is the most popular beach on the island, with sun beds and umbrella's for rent.  Very clean with great amenities and bathrooms right on the beach.  The sand is very soft and the ocean is generally good for swimming.
